CHRISTMAS TREE HUNTING

Dear Kurt,

There's just something about getting all decked out in our winter gear...

and then driving up to the mountains...

in the mist of all the snow and loved ones...

and looking high and low...

and stopping to play...

and maybe sneak a kiss or two...

and eventually finding a tree...

a beautiful Christmas tree...

that we get to chop down...

and take home for our very own.

Sincerely, Lori

FIVE YEARS

Dear Kurt,

Happy five years.

I loved our little surprise get away!

It was totally us in a nutshell.

It started off with something sweet...

The Jelly Belly Factory.

Then it was yummy...

A delicious meal at a Chevy's next to the river.

Then it turned into something funny...

Comedy Sportz.

Then it was romantic...

I'll skip the details.

Then it was fun...

Indoor surfing!!!

I loved it.

And I love you.

Thank you for five wonderful, crazy years.

I can't wait to see what the rest of eternity has in store for us.

Sincerely, Lori

SISTERS

Dear Brooklyn and Molly,

Hello to my two favorite girls in the whole world!

Although I would love to go on and on and on about how much I love and adore you both, I am quite tired (Molly- I blame you) so I will keep this short and simple and save all the mushy goodness for another time.

I am so glad you have each other.

Some of my favorite moments of the day are when you two interact with each other. When Molly watches Brooklyn's every move and smiles and laughs at her. And when Brooklyn goes to Molly when she is sad and says "It's okay, I will make you happy."

I can already see the bond that you two are forming. It will be something incredible and unique.

Never take each other for granted. Fight. Yell. Steal each others clothes, but always remember that you are sisters and will be for eternity and the bond you share is more important than any thing this world will ever have to offer.

Love, support, laugh, serve, and be crazy.

And just plain enjoy each other.

I love you both more than anything.

Sincerely, Lori

PUKE

Dear Molly,

Wow, what a rough weekend we had.

Last Thursday I decided that you have probably grown out of your aversion to chocolate. So I raided Brooklyn's Halloween stash a little bit. And, I was happy to see, you weren't fussy!! Yay!

So, Friday came, and I made up for four months of no chocolate. I basically ate my body weight in chocolate. Seriously.

Not. A. Good. Idea.

Starting Saturday, you projectile vomited every meal you ate. I can't even count how many times you threw up. No fever, no diahrea, no crying.

Just a happy, very pukey, very dehydrated baby.

And a very tired momma, since I couldn't sleep cause of worry that you would choke on your vomit or die from dehydration.

But, just as the doctor predicted, 30 hours after the last time I nursed you, you were better!

I am oh, so grateful life is back to normal and I can once again enjoy my baby without the worry of getting puked on!

And I will never eat chocolate (while I'm nursing) again!!!!

I love you!

Sincerely, Lori

BINKY

Dear Molly,

I woke up this morning and found you sucking on the wrong end of your binky.

It was so cute that I had to take some really bad phone pictures of you.

Sincerely, Lori

THREE MONTHS

Dear Molly,

Happy three months, little one.

I can’t tell you how much I love having your cute face around all the time.

You are a pretty good baby.

You are a sometimes a little coliky in the evenings but it’s not too bad.

You wake up a few times at night but you go right back to sleep.

You are super smily and coo-ing like crazy.

I love how chunky you are getting.

Thank you for blessing our little family with your cuteness every day.

I love you more than you will ever know.

Sincerely, Lori

MOLLY'S MANY FACES

 Dear Molly,

Oh, how I love your many different faces.

I could (and sometimes do) kiss that face all day long.

You are definitely your father's daughter with all those expressions.

I love you.

Sincerely, Lori

WENT TO THE FAIR FOR THE FOOD

Dear Kurt,

Today you took me to my first Idaho fair.

I decided I am not the biggest fan of fairs.

We spent an arm and a leg on getting into the fair, a few turns around the ferris wheel, a pony ride, and a bit of food.

But, oh, the food!!! I love me some deep fried food. Especially the funnel cakes. I LOVE funnel cakes.

That just might have made the three year old fits, nursing behind a semi truck, smelly people in wife-beaters, and sore feet worth it.

So, thanks for taking me to the fair, but next year let’s just have some one bring us back some deep fried goodness.

I love you.

Sincerely, Lori

DANCING IN THE RAIN

Dear Brooklyn,

Today I taught you an important life lesson: How to dance in the rain.

You will never be too old, too dressed up, or too cool to dance in the rain.

I hope you spend many days of your life enjoying the rain.

Sincerely, Lori
