LITTLE KITTEN

Dear Molly,

I'm going to start calling you my little kitten because you were entertained by a ball of yarn for a whole 40 minutes.

I'm not even sure a cat would have been interested for so long.

It was simply amazing and I was able to finish my book. That is, when I wasn't staring at you and your wonder of never ending yarn.

I love you, little kitten.

Sincerely, Lori

GRAND OPENING AT THE MUSEUM

Dear Kurt,

I recently volunteered my time and talents to the Museum of Idaho which earned us a invite to their VIP grand opening of their newest exhibit.

So we donned our best and headed over to enjoy an evening of carnival food, good company and the coolest displays of old carnival rides and carousel animals.

I even convinced you to wear a bow tie. You looked dashing. I loved it.

Christina was even there, volunteering as a mime passing out cotton candy.

I had my face painted and you ate a million little smokies.

It felt like we were transported back in time to another place.

It was magnificent. I wish we could do this type of thing everyday.

Sincerely, Lori

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR DAY

Dear Brooklyn,

We spread a little sunshine today.

Actually, we spread a little sugar and some inspiring quotes about dreams in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.

I thought about having a nice discussion with you about Martin Luther King Jr and equality using a brown egg and a white egg and what not, but seeing as how you are still confused about almost everything about Christmas and birthdays and Easter, I decided to let you think African Americans are made of chocolate for another year.

Sincerely, Lori

SINK BATHS

Dear Molly,

There is just something about bathing a baby in the sink.

It makes me feel like my baby is still a baby; like I can pause time for just a minute and be happy that my baby is still little.

And it also helps that you love sink baths. LOVE them.

Sincerely, Lori

IMPROMPTU PHOTO SHOOT

Dear Brooklyn and Molly,

It is my humble and unbiased opinion that you are the cutest girls ever to live.

And today I felt it completely necessary to capture your beauty forever.

I also felt slightly devastated that I couldn't bottle up these moments and have them to relive whenever I wanted. Which would be all the time.

I love you two. More than anything.

Sincerely, Lori

BEING DAD

Dear Kurt,

I love watching you with our girls.

These are some of my favorite moments ever.

I'm so glad you take time to make their day. I know they will be better people because of you.

FOOD

Dear Molly,

I am not food.

I know you don't believe me, but it's true.

Although, it is kind of cute how you attack my fingers and chew on them.

Oh, how I love you.

Sincerely, Lori

LAVA HOT SPRINGS

Dear Kurt,

Last night we went to Lava Hot Springs.

It was one last hoorah before some of our best friends left us for finer weather and the great city of Las Vegas.

We will miss them.

Let's book a flight to go visit. What do you say?

Sincerely, Lori

THAT KIND OF A DAY

Dear Brooklyn,

It was one of those days.

You know, the kind of day where you don't get out of your pj's unless it's to put on a princess costume.

The kind of day where you build a fort and hide out in it all day.

The kind of day where you eat old movie popcorn for breakfast and lunch.

The kind of day where you don't even think about doing anything productive or useful.

I love those kinds of days.

Sincerely, Lori
