ANOTHER DAY ON THE LAKE

KURT JUMPING THE WAKE.

Dear Kurt,

Even though Brooklyn and I are coming down with colds, we spent a day on the lake.

KACEY JUMPING THE WAVES FROM ANOTHER BOAT

It was fabulous as always.

BRITTANNY GETTING ACROSS AFTER A JUMP.

And I am getting a ton better at wake boarding. I am not too proud to admit that I have been scared of wake boarding for a while. I am scared to crash hard and I can never seem to control the board like everyone else can. Today I overcame those fears and did awesome.

I EVEN GOT A LITTLE AIR ON MY JUMPS

And you, my friend, are also doing amazing! You attempted a back flip at least 5 times. I know "attempted" sounds lame but hey, it's a back flip!!! A person will either land it or they will crash hard, so you definitely get kudos for attempting! And I honestly think that you will get it one of these days.

ONE OF YOUR ATTEMPTED BACK FLIPS

Oh, and I can't forget about our adorable little baby. She did great on the boat, like always. She loves the loud music and danced almost the entire time. Except when she fell asleep on my chest for half an hour. So cute, she is.

BROOKLYN EXPLORING AND DANCING

Good times.

Sincerely, Lori

JUMPING OFF CLIFFS

BROOKLYN AND KURT WATCHING BRITTANNY WAKEBOARD

Dear Kurt,

I love cliff jumping.

So today while we were boating I convinces everyone to jump off some cliffs.

KURT AND KACEY PREPARING TO JUMP

It was awesome. I even got you to jump a couple times and you liked it... at least I'm pretty sure you did.

KACEY DIVING OFF THE CLIFF

I want to go again... soon.

PAINTBALL, ICE CREAM, AND A BIKE RIDE

Dear Kurt,

Today was amazing. It was sooooo much fun.

We started off going paint balling with a bunch of people. Last time we went I wasn't very good but this time I was awesome! Once again I was the only girl (no big shocker there), but I definitely held my own against all the guys. I hit a lot of people and only got out when we were ambushed and it ended up being me against three people and then at the last second of the last game when I ran out to shoot the last guy from behind and ended up distracting him while you shot him. It was so fun. I want to go everyday.

YOU SHOWING OFF YOUR EMPTY CUPS AT SCOOP JAM

Then we raced over to the Scoop Jam all you can eat ice cream event. It was good ice cream but we ate ourselves sick real quick. But it was definitely worth the free tickets you won off the radio.

Later we went on a bike ride. You hate riding bikes but our friends Jill and Jedd had a little baby seat on the back of one of the bikes for Brooklyn. Brooklyn loved it and it's a good thing I wasn't riding with her since when I put my hand back on the handle bar I pressed the front brake and flipped over my bike. It was scary but I stayed on my feet... thankfully because I would have gotten road rash all over my face otherwise.

It was a great day with you. I wish the summers were longer so we could have days like this all the time.

I love you.

Sincerely, Lori

BOATING MEANS PAIN

ME ON THE WAY HOME FROM THE LAKE

Dear Kurt,

Today we went boating!!!

Oh how I love boating. And you love it too which made for a great time.

I got to drive the boat for the first time since it was just you, Carrie, Shania, and me. I got to knee board and wake board until I had a nasty crash and my jaw started hurting like crazy (I guess boating a week after you get your wisdom teeth out is not such a great idea).

I also heard you did some cool stuff on the knee board and wake board... it's too bad you made me face forward the entire time I was driving so I didn't get to see.

Anyways, it was super duper fun. I can't wait to go again soon... and bring Brooklyn with us. She will love it too... Hopefully.

Sincerely, Lori

GOOD OL' UTAH

Dear Kurt,

A quick trip to Utah for work reasons turned into mostly eating, swimming, and shopping with our good friends Jedd, Jill and their little one, Jaxton.

I like taking trips with you. Even though we had a few "musts" to take care of, the trip still felt carefree and fun.

Sometimes it's nice to have a planned trip but there is something to be said about spontaneity. Doing whatever we feel like doing at that moment. Eating whatever sounds good at the moment. Stopping if someplace looks interesting while driving down the road.

My favorites from this trip: swimming with Brooklyn for the first time, eating at Rumbi Island Grill, surfing, and snuggling with you in our freezing hotel room.

Sincerely, Lori

FIRST CAMPOUT OF THE SEASON

Dear Kurt,

A wonderful weekend is coming to a close.

Our first campout of the season was wonderful. Oh, how I love camping.

There is just something about being surrounded by nature and family and friends and cooking your food on a fire and throwing frisbeesand slathering babies with sunscreen every twenty minutes and not having a care in the world.

It was also a bunch of firsts for our little one.

It was Brooklyn's first camping trip, her first four-wheel ride, her first fire, her first spending a night in the same crib with another baby, her first time being rubbed down with sunscreen...

Less then two weeks before the next camping trip. Can we sleep in a tent this time?

Sincerely, Lori

FLOPPY HAT

Dear Brooklyn,

I love hangin' out in the sun, so in order to spare your beautiful, fair skin I have busted out your floppy hats.

I must say they are adorable.

SUMMER SUNDAYS

Dear Brooklyn,

Summer Sundays are my favorite.

They make me feel like I have time warped back decades to a simpler, carefree time.

A nice afternoon walk, jumping on the trampoline with the family, and a delicious BBQ.

A successful Sunday afternoon.

And lots more to come.

Sincerely, Lori

FRISBEE GOLF

Dear Kurt,

Our new favorite thing to do: Frisbee golf.

I love it. And I for the first three "holes" I thought I was pretty good.

Then there was the hole where I hit the tree that was five feet to my left when I was aiming to my right and the frisbee ended up ten feet behind where I started....

I think we need to practice.

My goal for the summer: beat you a frisbee golf? Very ambitious since you slaughtered me.

Brooklyn even enjoyed the walk around the park.

How about frisbee golf and a picnic next weekend?

Sincerely, Lori
