MY SAVING GRACE

Dear Jill,

Thank you so so so so so so so much for coming over yesterday to take care of me and my baby.

I know taking care of me wasn't really part of the deal but Brooklyn is so easy that I needed more taking care of then she did.

I owe you big time. You gave Brooklyn a bath. You went to the store to get me medicine. You made sure I didn't overdose, which I almost did. You made me lunch. You fed Brooklyn. You changed diapers, including helping me with a very bad blow out. You watched Brooklyn while I took a nap. You played with Brooklyn all day. You made me eat when I didn't want to because I was extremely nauseous but you knew it would make me feel better. You made dinner for Kurt, Jedd, you and me. And I'm sure there is a ton more that I don't even know about because I was drugged or sleeping or too sick to notice.

Oh, and you did all this while taking care of your baby too!!

You are the champion multi-tasker and get first place for having complete patience.

Thank you so much. I really don't know what I would have done without you there. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have been brainstorming ways to repay you but in the mean time if there is anything you need then I would love to help you out.

Sincerely, Lori

GOING TO THE DENTIST

Dear Kurt,

I am nervous about going to the dentist today.

Maybe even a little scared.

Going to the dentist is one of my least favorite things to do in the whole world.

It probably has a lot to do with the fact that I have sensitive teeth and a bajillion fillings and a missing tooth and hurting wisdom teeth and..... well you name it.

Why am I afraid to get my wisdom teeth out?

Here is the list:

• I always said I would be "put under" when I get my wisdom teeth out which is not going to happen now that we have to pay for the whole shabang.

• I have heard a lot of horror stories. And I mean a lot of them.

I fear pain. I always think something is going to hurt worse then it does. Except contractions. Those hurt worse then I thought.

• How am I going to take care of Brooklyn when I am all drugged up and in pain. (I will be drugged up, right?)

Anyways... there it is. I am a definite wimp when it comes to the dentist.

Maybe I can convince my mom to come and take care of Brooklyn (and me) for a week since she loves to travel around the country during the summers anyways...

Oh, and I heard once that dentists (out of all careers) have the highest suicide rate because people hate going to them, so whenever I go to the dentist I try and act extra happy because I don't want my dentist to commit suicide.... I know I am crazy.

Hopefully I can get this thing over with quick so I can think about something else.

Sincerely, Lori

WISDOM TEETH

Dear Kurt,

I seriously need my wisdom teeth out.

They have been giving me some awful headaches that put me on the couch for an hour waiting for pain killers to kick in.

I have a dentist appointment this week. Hopefully the news will be that they can take my teeth out soon and for cheap.

This is the first step toward my lifelong goal of getting my teeth fixed.

Hopefully the next step could be covered by dental insurance, huh?

Sincerely, Lori

FOOD POISONING

Dear Kurt,

Do you think I have food poisoning?

I woke at 2 in the morning and my stomach and chest hurt so bad that I couldn't go back to sleep. The whole time I thought I was going to have to run to the bathroom and throw up.

Three years ago I had food poisoning and this was how I felt. So all night long I thought "this is definitely food poisoning."

It's now 3:00 p.m. and I haven't thrown up... weird for food poisoning, right? Right. Last time I had food poisoning I threw up dozens of times within the first 24 hours.

Then I got to thinking "could I be pregnant?"

I have been counting and re-counting the days. No. I couldn't be pregnant. Could I? I probably wouldn't be feeling sick this soon.... I'm not ready to be pregnant again.

So after much contemplation I have come to this conclusion. I am not pregnant. It's way to early to be sick cause I would have gotten pregnant within the last week.

Phew. What a relief.

Now that that is cleared up - what's wrong with me?

Sincerely, Lori

TO THE RESCUE

Dear Kimberly,

Thanks for coming over to help out with Brooklyn since my back was hurting.

If I knew she was going to go to sleep before you got here and then sleep for over four hours then I wouldn't have had you come so soon. But I appreciate it anyways. It was nice to have our "Friday morning date" back, especially since you will only live so close for a couple more months.

I'm glad you were here for Brooklyn's first time saying "da da." It was so cute.

Also, thanks for helping me with my project. You're awesome.

Love you tons. Thanks again for helping.

Sincerely, Lori

MY ACHING BACK

Dear Kurt,

My back hurts. I can't stand up straight. I can't even hold Brooklyn unless I am sitting down.

Tomorrow is going to suck. Brooklyn is sick and will want to be held and walked around sometimes and I won't be able to do it.

I am sad. I hope it goes away soon.

Sincerely, Lori
